Seniors of CPS: Conor P.

Interview conducted by Sofia R.

12:26 p.m: Just having returned from intraterm, followed by a three-day weekend, followed by the Senior Snow Trip, Conor looked relaxed when I saw him lounging in the courtyard talking to Ian G. Sitting next to him, I click record. Welcome Conor. The interview has begun.

Sofia: So my first question is, what's something you're passionate about?

Conor: Something I'm passionate about? I used to be very passionate about, like academics, but now I’m a second-semester senior, so a little less of that than before (laughs). I still enjoy physics though. Physics is a lot of fun. And math. All the STEM stuff: doing puzzles. Yeah, I don't know. It's a good time. Nothing specific though. I'm just hanging out.

Sofia: Yeah. What's one of your favorite songs?

Conor: My favorite songs… I like A Tribe Called Quest. So I Left my Wallet in El Segundo, that’s a good song. I also like John Mayer, New Light, that’s a good song fo listen to.

Sofia: What’s one item on your bucket list?

Conor: On my bucket list? Oh, god, I haven’t really thought about that. Not that old yet. Maybe like, I don't know. It sounds kind of generic, but skydiving. I thought it'd be super cool to go skydiving over a desert in like, New Mexico. But yeah, that would be my bucket list.

Sofia: Why New Mexico?

Conor: I don't know. Just like imagine seeing all the plateaus and stuff. I don't know, they're pretty cool. It's a cool scene.

Sofia: Yeah. How have you changed during your time at College Prep?

Conor:  I don't really know. I haven't changed too much. I worked harder than I had before, which was a good experience, I think. So I'm probably more prepared for college. I feel like I’ve basically been in college for four years now. So it's gonna be like more of the same thing, which is great because I really enjoyed my time here, so it’s worth it.

Sofia: Yeah. Last one. What's one of your favorite College Prep memories?

Conor: One of my favorite College Prep memories is probably- I have a lot of good memories, but I guess waking up from my sophomore retreat. I was probably the only one who got like, enough rest that night. And so I woke up but I was really swollen, and my face was really swollen. And so I looked really stoned or something (laughs). People were laughing, they thought it was funny. They were all, like, pointing at me. I mean, they were like, “Oh my God, you look so stoned.” And I was like, “What are you talking about?” and I saw myself in the mirror. I was like, oh my god, I do.

Sofia: Did you have a normal sophomore retreat?

Conor: Yeah, it was pretty normal. I mean, it was actually the freshman retreat that we had in our sophomore year because it kind of got messed up in our freshman year. So we went, yeah, river rafting. I think, I don't know, I get them mixed up in my head. But it was the American river trip, which was a lot of fun. Yeah.

Sofia: Okay, thank you.
