Surina: Hey Lulu! Ready for your Seniors of CPS interview?

Lulu: Yes!

Surina: Okay, let's start with some rapid fire questions. First up, did you prefer Freshman Physics or Asian Worlds?

Lulu: I would say Freshman Physics. I know it's kind of a hot take, because I know a lot of people did not like Physics, but I thought it was a really fun class. And shout out to Alex, who was my teacher—great teacher—made it a lot of fun as well.

Surina: Nice. Next question, what's your favorite way to spend a rainy day?

Lulu: My favorite way to spend a rainy day is to sleep because I hate rainy days or to go to a place that's sunny.

Surina: Smart strategy. What is one item on your bucket list?

Lulu: I think one item on my bucket list would be to do some solo traveling. Because I think it would be kind of cool to have the confidence and agency of seeing a new place on your own.

Surina: Anywhere specific that you'd want to go?

Lulu: Either somewhere in Asia or Europe. Maybe Greece, I went there with my family, and it was quite beautiful.

Surina:  Wonderful. Next up, what is your favorite article of clothing?

Lulu: That's genuinely so hard because I like a lot of articles of clothing. I'm gonna go with interesting colors, textures, and patterns. And that can be on any article to, like, any shirt or pants or scarf. And even, like, jewelry.

Surina: Okay, and our last rapid fire question: if you could have any superpower, what superpower would you choose and why?

Lulu: For practicality,
teleportation because it just makes the most sense. Like, if I wanted to right now, I could go have lunch in London. But if I was choosing it purely for joy and not for time management, I would go with flying because that's been my lifelong dream …. like, when I was a child, I used to imagine flying around the sky while I was in the backseat of my family's car.

Surina: Now for some longer response questions: If you could say thank you to one place on campus, what would it be?

Lulu: I would say thank you to the learning center and James. Even though I don't go there as much this year, because after a certain point of science, James doesn't help anymore, and I no longer need his help in math, but I think that he was just really important in me gaining a lot of confidence in STEM subjects and having a place where I could ask as many questions that I needed to ask without feeling judged. So definitely thank you to the learning center.

Surina: Yes, James is a GOAT for sure.

Lulu: So true.

Surina: Alright, if you could give any advice to your freshman self, what would it be?

Lulu: Freshman year…I think I would tell my freshman self that things will work out and that I don't need to be so worried. And that I also should trust myself a little bit more and believe in my abilities.

Surina:  Love that. And for our second to last question: what is one of your favorite CPS memories?

Lulu: One of my favorite CPS memories was Intraterm last year, my Junior year. I hosted it with Surina [laughs]. And we got, like, two of our really good friends on the trip by chance which was really nice. That happened, and then we watched tennis and had this amazing Airbnb. I think I enjoyed it not just because of the activities, but what I really enjoyed about that Intraterm was how I definitely felt like I bonded with a lot of people and had a lot of fun.

Surina: I second that memory being a favorite one! We’ve reached our final question! Where do you see yourself in five years?

Lulu: Where do I see myself in five years? Well, I will just have graduated college. I mean, honestly, I don't really know. I don't have a lot of super clear plans for what I want to do in my career or stuff like that. But, you know, I think my hope for college is that I will have a really nice time and that I'll get to explore my passions and figure out what I really want to do. So hopefully I see myself in five years having some direction with my career, and also having had a really wonderful time in college and having made a lot of great memories and friends.

Surina: Wonderful! Thank you Lulu!

Lulu: Thanks Surina!
