Interview conducted by Elsa Chun '28

Monday, November the 27th, 2025 at 11:32AM
Elsa: Okay, let's start the interview. I'm gonna start with the rapid fire questions. Okay, so Favorite Trader Joe snack?
Noemie: Scandinavian swimmers. But like the, what is it called? Wait, hold on, the sour kind.
Elsa: Oh, I just had those. Those are really good.
Noemie: They’re SO good! I couldn't remember what it was [laughs].
Elsa: Freshman physics or Asian worlds?
Noemie: Asian worlds.
Elsa: Gym deck or student commons?
Noemie: Gym deck.
Elsa: Go-to karaoke song?
Noemie: Anything by The Killers.
Elsa: Best way to spend a rainy day?
Noemie: Outside in the rain.
Elsa: Awww. Favorite day of the week?
Noemie: Uh, Friday is a cop out. So Wednesday.
Elsa: Really? Kate [the previous interviewee] said that too.
Noemie: Huh, interesting.
Elsa: Do you have a reason for that?
Noemie: Well, Latin Club. And also, it's just like the middle of the week. Once Wednesday is over, I'm like, “I can get through the week!”
Elsa: What is one item on your bucket list?
Noemie: I want to go bungee jumping.
Elsa: Oooh, so these are the longer questions- you can talk a little bit more about these. What is something that not a lot of people know about you?
Noemie: Okay, so I think I'm known for being a rock climber at school because I do it competitively. BUT a lot of people don't know that I played ice hockey when I was younger.
Elsa: Really? I didn’t know they had that here!
Noemie: Not here, it was at Oakland Ice. So yeah.
Elsa: All right, If you could say thank you to one place on campus, what would it be and why?
Noemie: Oh, this is hard. I have two places: first the gym, because freshman and sophomore year me and Hoda and other people would always be playing volleyball in the gym. It was really cutesy. And then second: the Latin room, because Latin, and I feel like that's the room I spend the most time in.
Elsa: Okay, what's one of your favorite CPS memories?
Noemie: Oh, this one's also hard. The Death March is always fun, I think.
Elsa: Explain what that is?
Noemie: It's like the thing where all the Latin classes go out and wear all black and hit their heads [both laugh]. That's pretty fun, because I get to pull the chariot every year.
Elsa: Oh, yeah. If you could give advice to your freshman yourself, what would it be?
Noemie: Take advantage of your free time and have fun doing things. Because I feel like, as you get older, you... I've definitely felt like I have less time to do things during my free blocks. But freshman year, I would always be, like, playing games with Soleil, or playing volleyball or just hanging out with people.
Elsa: All right. And then the last question, where do you see yourself in five years?
Noemie: Huh. This one's hard. If I get a job…
Elsa: If??
Noemie: [laughs] Well, I don't know what the job is gonna look like in five years.
Elsa: That’s a good point.
Noemie: But yeah after college, I feel like I'm either gonna be in academia and be kind of sad- like it'll be interesting, but it'll be academia. Or I'll be doing something that I definitely haven't thought of now.
Elsa: Okay, so vastly undecided.
Noemie: Yeah, I think so.
Elsa: Well, thank you so much for the interview!
