On February 14th during Common Classroom, our school will host Professor Shalini, an AI strategist and founder of startups such as Metaverse University, who will introduce a fascinating topic in artificial intelligence: agentic AI. Unlike regular AI, which needs human input at every step, agentic AI can set goals, plan its own actions, and adapt to new situations without constant supervision.
This ability makes agentic AI useful in many fields. In healthcare, AI can study medical data to find new drugs and speed up their development. In finance, it can analyze markets and manage investments. In cybersecurity, it can detect fraud and prevent cyberattacks in real-time. Businesses are also starting to use agentic AI to automate customer service and supply chain management.
During the talk, Professor Shalini will explain the key technologies behind agentic AI. These include large language models, which help AI process and generate text; reinforcement learning, which teaches AI to improve its decisions over time; and multi-agent systems, which allow different AI programs to work together like a team. Another important technique is retrieval-augmented generation, which helps AI pull in outside information to improve its answers.
For students interested in AI, this talk is a great opportunity to learn how to get started. Prof. Shalini will share advice on learning programming, experimenting with AI tools, and developing skills in prompt engineering. Attendees will gain insight into the latest trends in AI research and industry developments.
This event is a chance to see where AI is headed and how it is shaping the world. Whether you are new to AI or already exploring the field, this talk will provide valuable knowledge and inspiration.
