A few weeks ago, some super creative CPS students photographed their Halloween costumes. Here are a few of our favorites

This was my take on Persephone. In mythology, she’s the goddess of springtime, but she spends half of the year in the Underworld as Hades’ wife. I like experimenting with makeup, and I decided to try to represent her dual identity in the costume. That’s why you have the bright eye makeup reflective of spring flowers against the black and white skull makeup covering my mouth. The white dress is reminiscent of modern depictions of goddesses, whereas the black corset is restrictive and designed to make you look a certain way, just as Hades was attracted to Persephone for looks and keeps her trapped in the Underworld for half of each year.
