Emnet: Okay, perfect. So I'm going to start off with rapid-fire questions.
Camille: Okay.
Emnet: First, what's your favorite Trader Joe's snack?
Camille: Probably the mini candy cane meringues. Those are really yummy.
Emnet: I don't think I've ever had that, but that sounds really cool! Okay, freshman physics or Asian worlds?
Camille: Asian worlds.
Emnet: Really? Why?
Camille: I had Ms. Gumbert, and she was a really amazing teacher, and I just feel like the content in the class was so different than anything that I'd ever learned before.
Emnet: That's really cool. I love that. Next, gym deck or student commons?
Camille: Probably the student commons.
Emnet: Yeah? Why?
Camille: It can get a little stinky in the afternoon, but it's nice in the morning when it's warm and cold outside.
Emnet: Okay. What's your go-to karaoke song?
Camille: Good question. Probably anything from Mamma Mia.
Emnet: I think that's probably one of the best answers we’ve gotten. Okay, this is a really timely question, but what’s the best way to spend a rainy day?
Camille: I think at home or in a cafe with a really yummy warm drink and reading a book probably would be my go-to.
Emnet: I think that's a great go-to. What's your favorite day of the week?
Camille: Honestly, I really like Mondays. I feel like it's a nice restart to the week, and I feel excited to go back to school from the weekend, but then that feeling kind of fades out by Tuesday.
Emnet: Okay. I think you're the first person to ever say Monday. What's one item on your bucket list?
Camille: There are a bunch of places that I want to travel. I really want to go to Argentina and Morocco, and I also really want to go to Switzerland.
Emnet: That's so cool. I think that those would all be fun places to travel to. Okay, so these are some longer response questions. If you could give advice to your freshman self, what would it be?
Camille: I would tell myself, freshman year, I had a really weird sleep schedule. I was definitely getting enough sleep. It was broken up into three to four-hour increments throughout the day, and that was definitely not the best. So yeah, I’d tell myself to fix my sleep schedule and just get a solid eight hours in a night.
Emnet: Yeah, I think that's something that I need to work on too. Okay, if you could say thank you to one place on campus, what would it be?
Camille: I really like the room that's in between the learning center and the history office. I'm definitely very productive there, and also, of course, I love Danya’s office because she has a good tea selection.
Emnet: Yeah, I've never actually been in the room between the learning center and the history office.
Camille: I'm way more productive in there than in the quiet room. It's my favorite place to do work.
Emnet: That's cool. I'll check it out. What's one of your favorite CPS memories?
Camille: I think I had a lot of fun last year working on the museum project. I had a really fun group. It was Zia, Scarlett, and Agape, and we just had a lot of fun. We were working at Scarlett's house, and we had a bunch of Trader Joe's snacks, and Zia's mom got us coffee. It was a really fun project. We centered ours on the flappers, and designing it was really cool. We designed it so it looked like a teenage girl's vanity, and then we had a movie theater and a mannequin. It was a lot of fun.
Emnet: That sounds so cool. I love that. What is something that not a lot of people know about you?
Camille: That's a good question. I really like to roller skate, but I'm not very good at it.
Emnet: That's such a fun fact! I definitely would not have expected that. Have you done it for a long time?
Camille: Yes, but it doesn't mean that I'm good at it. I'm quite bad at it.
Emnet: That’s okay! Where do you see yourself in five years?
Camille: In five years? I'll be 22. Hopefully, I'll have just graduated from college. I think it would be really fun to move back in with my sister, because I definitely miss her. It would be really fun to live in New York or just somewhere cool with her.
Emnet: That sounds like such a cool future. This is something a bit new, but do you have a photo from freshman year and a little story to go with it?
Camille: Yes, I have so many. Should I find one?
Emnet: Yeah, find one.
Camille: Okay, I'll find one right now. Let me look. Sorry, this might take a second.
Emnet: It's okay.
Camille: This is a picture of me and my friend Beatrice. She doesn't go here anymore. We climbed a tree. It's right by school, and then I fell out of the tree. That was a lot of fun.
Emnet: Wow! That's all the questions we have for you. Thank you so much.
