Surina: Hey Reier! Ready to start your Seniors of CPS interview?
Reier: Yes I am!
Surina: Okay, let’s with some rapid-fire questions. First, what is one item on your bucket list??
Reier: I want to go to Antarctica.
Surina: Cool! What’s your favorite way to spend a rainy day?
Reier: I enjoy reading or maybe playing poker with my friends…yeah.
Surina: Nice! What is your favorite pasta shape?
Reier: Probably just spaghetti. Very boring.
Surina: Next question: what was your best or favorite childhood Halloween costume?
Reier: Um, I think when I was really young I was a pumpkin. So, in kindergarten, I think that was very cute and there were a lot of pictures of that, so probably the pumpkin.
Surina: I was a pumpkin at some point as well! Definitely a classic costume. Okay, last rapid-fire question: which did you prefer, Freshman physics or Asian Worlds?
Reier: Asian worlds.
Surina: Time for some longer-response questions! What’s something not a lot of people know about you?
Reier: Maybe that I was an Eagle Scout and that I did a lot of camping. I did a lot of community service there too and I really enjoy the outdoors.
Surina: If you could say thank you to one place on campus, where would it be?
Reier: One place.. I’d probably say the library. I really enjoy it when it’s raining outside, there’s not a lot of other places to go. It’s a pretty nice temp in there usually and a lot of my friends, And it’s a good place to work.
Surina: The library is a great lock-in space. If you could give advice to your freshman self, what would it be?
Reier: I mean this is kind of boring but probably just try more things freshman year. I think I was probably a little scared, probably too focused on trying to make friends But I think there were a lot of opportunities I could have tried and I could’ve learned more about myself faster through freshman year. There are a lot of opportunities to try different things, different types of activities. Overall just try to do more.
Surina: Good advice. What is one of your favorite CPS memories?
Reier: So far, snowtrip. It was just very fun. We had a lot of freedom on snowtrip. I just got to spend a lot of time with my friends, we got to do cool hikes, we played board games together, we played poker. Yeah, it was a very fun and free trip.
Surina: Alright last question… where do you see yourself in five years?
Reier: Probably employed at Citadel or James Street doing come type of math/computer science/data science type role, as an analyst.
