Tuesday, November 18th, 2025. I find Daniella during lunch & we sit down on a bench in the courtyard…The interview begins.
Jessie: Hi Daniella, welcome to your Seniors of CPS interview! We’re going to start with some rapid-fire questions and then transition to some longer-response ones.
Jessie: First up, Gym Deck or Student Commons?
Daniella: Student Commons, yeah.
Jessie: Favorite day of the week?
Daniella: Saturday.
Jessie: Yeah, good choice.
Daniella: Yes, cuz it’s the weekend.
Jessie: One item on your bucket list?
Daniella: Oooh…go to Japan.
Jessie: Yeah? It’s really nice there.
Jessie: Okay, last one — go-to karaoke song?
Daniella: Oh ummmm probably an Adele song. Maybe “Chasing Pavements”?
Jessie: Hmm, I don’t think I’ve heard that one, but Adele is really good. So now we’re going to transition to some longer response questions! First: what is something not a lot of people know about you?
Daniella: Hmmm…I guess something not a lot of people know about me is that I play a lot of sports. I play basketball, soccer—well I used to play club but not anymore—skiing, mountain biking…yeah, lots of sports.
Jessie: Yeah, I know you’re on our school soccer team, right?
Daniella: Yes! But I couldn’t play basketball and soccer, so I had to just play soccer.
Jessie: Cool! What’s one of your favorite CPS memories?
Daniella: Oooh…I’ll say sophomore retreat. It was really cold, but it was a lot of fun.
Jessie: Yeah, I heard about the weather during your year.
Daniella: Laughs Yeah, but it was good bonding.
Jessie: Trauma bonding, I guess! Next, if you could say thank you to one place on campus, what would it be?
Daniella: Hmmm…
Jessie: It could be anywhere — not just a room — like the courtyard, those tables up by Scott…
Daniella: Well I guess I’ll say the courtyard. I spend a lot of time working out here.
Jessie: Yes, it’s great when the sun comes out!
Daniella: Yeah, but not while it’s raining…
Jessie: Laughs Of course.
Jessie: Okay, last question: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Daniella: Oooh okay, so probably still going to school…
Jessie: Sarcastically, laughing Oh yay!
Daniella: Well maybe I’ve got enough money to travel around somewhere. That would be fun.
Jessie: So if you do, would you go to Japan then?
Daniella: Oh yeah, of course! Get that off my bucket list, haha.
Jessie: Yeah, that sounds great. And that’s all the questions we have today — thank you so much!
Daniella: Yay, thanks!
